Tree Lopping in Cairns and other Wooded areas Could Avert a Tragedy

Trees have always been held in esteem by artists, poets, and nature lovers, but on a fateful day in February, one of them would inadvertently take a life and the role of villain. Daily Mail Australia writer Sarah Michael reports how a young schoolgirl accidentally lost her life in a freak accident that has arborists up in arms across the state. An eye for an eye? Conservationists and arborists alike have called the move impulsive and irrational because cutting down thousands of trees isn’t likely to lower the mortality rate in schools across NSW. The government, however, was quick to defend its stand by citing safety as its main purpose.
